This helps the artisans to meet consumers’ desires for innovative fabrics, especially in the higher-end fashion segments.
In particular, the infusion of South Indian weaving techniques, as well as influences from trade routes connecting Kerala to regions like the Middle East and Europe, contributed to the evolution of Kerala textiles. Skilled weavers incorporated innovative methods and designs, resulting in the creation of distinctive handloom textiles known for their intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and superior quality.
